Prepared to answer
dan 1/11/2010 12:47:19 PM

In our walk of faith we may encounter those who ask us tough questions about what we believe. Questions like:

Does God really answer our prayers?

Where is God when I am Hurting?

What kind of God Demands worship?

The questions maybe shocking and difficult to answer. They can also be a wonderful opportunity to speak of our faith and our Savior's love to the one asking the questions. If you are like me you may have failed to use the opportunity because of fear of saying the wrong thing. While we know the story of the prodigal son or the account of Jesus prayer in Gethsemane from Sunday school lessons long ago. We often fail to speak confidently of Jesus and His love for the world because we don't know the chapter and verse where it is found or perhaps because we can not repeat the story word for word from the Bible. In our Sunday morning bible class we are studying ways we might respond to those who are seeking answers from us. Our study is based on a set of books and related study material written by Mark and John Paustian. The title of the series is "prepared to answer" and the title reminds us of the encouragement God gives us His children in 1 Peter 3:15. I hope you will find the idea of Witnessing through stories as intriguing as I do. For a sample of some of the stories go to the blog section of our website and click on " Prepared to Answer"  I will be adding some examples from the series as time allows. Also let me encourage you to join us Sunday Morning at 9:15 in the church sanctuary as together we can become more prepared to answer.
